If you are interested in being a volunteer with ConDFW 7, please follow the instructions below:
ConDFW is run by a small staff, and each staff head is in charge of setting up his or her own crew.
To volunteer, please fill out the form on the “Contact Us” page or email us at
with the following information:
1) Your name
2) Your email address
3) The top three departments you would like to volunteer in. (If you don’t care which area, let us know or add “General worker pool” to the list.)
4) Any area you will NOT work in (i.e., if you have mobility problems, we don’t want to give you a job that requires walking all over the hotel, or maybe you just can’t stand sitting at Registration and want a job where you get to walk around a lot).
5) Any special needs you may have.
6) The hours you can work (also, can you come in Thursday night and help with setup, or stay late Sunday afternoon and help with tear-down?)
We will be distributing names to our staff heads and if they need workers they will contact you, probably in late February. If you have already purchased a con membership and you get tapped to work, we will refund your membership at the con.
If you are under 18, please have one of your parents contact us and let us know that it’s OK for you to volunteer.
Here is a general sample listing of the areas that might need volunteers and the associated jobs:
–Dealer’s Room: general workers for running errands and checking badges.
–Art Show: help for setting up the poles and boards and hanging art Thursday night and Friday morning, general workers through the con, auction runners and sellers on Saturday night, selling art, tearing down and packing art on Sunday.
–Programming: mostly reconfiguring panel rooms as needed throughout the con, checking the water supplies in the panel rooms, making sure the guests have what they need.
–Book Swap: staffing the table each day.
–Registration: selling memberships each day.
–Consuite: some light food preparation, keeping the room in order. May have schedule slots to be filled around the clock: please let us know if you can or can’t work the wee hours of the morning.
–Gaming: General gofers. (For GMing, please contact the Gaming Director from the contact form.) May have schedule slots to be filled around the clock: please let us know if you can or can’t work the wee hours of the morning.
–General worker pool: Badge-checkers at doors, gofers, hanging around in case someone needs help. May be assigned to other areas as needed.
Thank you for your interest!
