John Manning

Although he has achieved limited success writing mostly nonfiction articles and one short story over the years, 2011 turned out to be John Manning’s break out year in fiction writing.  His first novel, Black Stump Ridge, was released in late January.  The following July, his short story, “Disclaimer,” appeared in Janet and Chris Morris’s shared world anthology, Lawyers in Hell.  Since then, he has sold three more short stories – “Asylum” for Sha’Daa III – Pawns (due to be released in 2012); “Mr. Bass Man” for Sha’Daa IV – Catechism (no release date set); and “Showdown at Brimstone Arsenal” for Adventurers in Hell (to be released in late spring or early summer 2012).  He is also editing a horror anthology titled What Scares the Boogeyman? (scheduled for release October 2012 in time for Halloween).  Although originally from Detroit, Michigan, John currently resides in Denton, Texas.
