Carole Nelson Douglas

Carole Nelson Douglas ( carolenelsondouglas.com ), author of sixty novels in multiple genres, is a former daily newspaper reporter/editor. She’s won more than thirty writing awards and has had titles on sf/fantasy and mystery bestseller lists and USA TODAY.

Her Delilah Street, Paranormal Investigator series, with starred Publisher Weekly reviews for Dancing with Werewolves and Brimstone Kiss, returned Carole to fantasy after fifteen years of exclusively writing mystery and historical suspense novels. The 2013 Las Vegas-set series is noir urban fantasy with complex world-building and high action.

Virtual Virgin, Delilah’s fifth and newest adventure, came out in December. “Monster Mash,” a Delilah Street story, was in 2011′s Chix Kick Butt anthology, and her “Snow Job” novella will be in the forthcoming Hex Symbols anthology edited by P.N. Elrod.

Cat in a Vegas Gold Vendetta is the newest title in Carole’s long-running Midnight Louie, PI, feline detective series. Cat in a White Tie and Tails arrives Aug. 3.

In December, Carole’s Wishlist Publishing imprint debuted with the original e-book, A Wall Street Christmas Carol, a short novel inspired by Carole’s novella, “Scrogged: A Cyber Christmas Carol,” about the Enron debacle in 2001 Houston. Now she skewers Wall Street greed as well.

Also out in e-book is a novella,The Private Wife of Sherlock Holmes, featuring Irene Adler. Carole was the first author to make a woman from the Canon a protagonist. Good Night, Mr. Holmes, the first of the eight historical novels, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Her Irene Adler is far more substantial and true to Doyle than the current film one, a cute but treacherous minx. But . . . to each her or his own Holmes, sweet Holmes. Carole eagerly awaits the BBC‘s Sherlock‘s upcoming Adler interpretation.
